Meet Douglas Wade
Owner and CEO of Wade’s Dairy, INC

Douglas Howard Wade Jr., was born December 13, 1953 in Fairfield, CT to Douglas and Jewel Corrigan Wade; a middle child with an older sister Susan and younger brother Bernie.  Doug graduated from Roger Ludlowe High School and earned a B.S. Degree in Business Management at Sacred Heart University in 1977.  He became a “jack of all trades” working alongside parents, uncles, cousins and siblings at Wade’s Dairy, Inc.; a family business started in 1893 by his great-grandfather, Frank Henry Wade.

Doug obtained a milk pasteurizing license, a license to drive tractor trailers, headed the sales department, handled the IT needs of the business; and is now is now the fourth generation President of Wade’s Dairy.  He takes great pride in his three grown children, Kenneth, Ryan and Andrew; and delights in his three grandchildren, Chase, Alice and Andrew Jr.  His sons (Ryan and Andrew) and his nieces (Lindsay & Tori) now work alongside him in the business and intend to carry on the Wade’s legacy as the fifth generation.

Doug’s ongoing community efforts include his service on Boards of Directors for the Bridgeport Regional Business Council, The Council of Churches of Greater Bridgeport, The Fairfield Half Marathon and the Juneteenth Celebration.  He actively supports the St. Vincent’s Swim Across the Sound Foundation, and Alpha Community Services.  Doug also publicly advocates for those most in need and strongly promotes efforts to reduce poverty, provide quality education, and restore this country to the land of opportunity.  His advocacy of increasing the minimum wage caught the attention of the White House; and Doug was honored to both meet and be given a “shout out” from President Barack Obama in March of 2014.  The President had come to New Britain, CT to give a speech in support of the minimum wage increase.  Doug is an avid bicyclist and recently completed a 196 mile ride for the CT Challenge; raising over $5,000 for cancer survivors.  Doug is very happily married to Ramona, and they reside in Shelton, CT.
